Bulk excavation, reduced dig, cut and fill, site strip and clearance — on our own excavators and dumpers, with operators who have done it for years.
Excavation is the first thing that happens on site and the first thing that goes wrong when it is rushed. We clear, strip and dig plots across South Wales — single house plots, developments and commercial sites — with excavators from around 1.5 tonnes for tight garden access up to 8 tonnes on open ground, and dumpers to match.
A dig is planned around where the spoil goes, where the plant gets in, and what the levels have to end up at. We set out properly, keep the site trafficable, and leave the ground in a state the next trade can actually work on.
Site clearance and strip
Vegetation clearance, demolition arisings removed, topsoil stripped and stockpiled or taken away, obstructions grubbed out.
Bulk excavation and reduced dig
Reduced-level dig to formation, basement and pool excavations, and bulk earthworks on larger sites, set out to the levels on the drawing.
Cut and fill
Balancing levels on sloping plots so you are not paying to import stone and export spoil on the same job. Compacted and tested where the specification requires it.
Access and site set-up
Temporary access roads, hardstanding, compound areas and crane pads, so the site works from day one rather than the day the plant arrives.

Questions
Excavation & site clearance — common questions.
Can you get plant into a tight rear garden?
Usually, yes. Our smallest excavators are around 1.5 tonnes and will pass through a standard access. We will look at the access before we price it rather than after.
Do you take the spoil away?
Yes — muck away with the correct duty-of-care documentation, or we retain and re-use it on site where the levels allow, which is often cheaper.
Do you excavate for swimming pools?
Regularly. Pool excavation, the reinforced shell and the plant room enabling works are all things we do in-house.
Will you work for another main contractor?
Yes. Excavation and earthworks packages for developers and main contractors are standard work for us.
