Since 2019 every new development in Wales of more than a very small area needs sustainable drainage approved by the local SuDS Approving Body before construction starts. It catches a lot of people out. We build drainage across South Wales to SAB-approved designs, as part of our own homes and as a package for other builders.
Foul and surface water, attenuation crates and tanks, permeable surfacing, inspection chambers, soakaways, septic tanks and treatment plants, and connections into the public sewer including Section 104 and Section 106 arrangements with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.
Foul and surface water drainage
Complete below-ground drainage runs to falls, inspection chambers, gullies and connections, laid and bedded to the specification and tested before backfill.
SuDS and SAB approval
Sustainable drainage built to the approved design — attenuation, permeable paving, swales and controlled discharge — with the evidence the SAB inspector needs at each stage.
Adoptable connections
Section 104 and Section 106 work with the water authority, including connections to the public sewer and the standards adoptable schemes have to be built to.
Off-mains drainage
Septic tanks, treatment plants, pumping stations and soakaways where there is no public sewer to connect to — common on rural plots across Monmouthshire and the valleys.

Drainage & SuDS — common questions.
What is SAB approval and do I need it?
The SuDS Approving Body sits within your local council and must approve the surface water drainage for most new construction in Wales before work starts. If you are building a new house, you almost certainly need it.
Can you get a connection to the public sewer?
Yes. We handle the connection work and the Section 104 and Section 106 process with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water as part of the package.
What if there is no mains drainage at the plot?
Then it is a treatment plant or septic tank with an approved discharge, sized for the property. We install and connect them.
Do you do drainage repairs and alterations to existing systems?
Alterations and diversions as part of a build, yes. We are a construction contractor rather than a drain-clearing service.
